In the podcast, Dr. Kelley answered all my inquiries. Students in the program mostly learn about how to teach language and literacy with the integration of technology as well as how technology can support language and literacy learning. Next, Grade Point Average (e.g., above 3.0 in the master study) is the initial cut off. Prospective students should also be in a good fit in the program. Another essential part of the admission process is the writing skill. Students have to do a lot of writing and reading. The program will also review the students’ CV and statement of intent very carefully. These documents must be well written.
Dr. Kelley likes all domestic and international students. She cannot imagine having only one of the groups in her classes. International students help to understand global society, while local students also contribute a lot of valuable ideas in classroom discussions. Last, to be successful in the Ph.D. program, Dr. Kelley asks us to do whatever works best to us; pray, exercise, be connected to one another; have a support group, and take care of our well-being.
I challenged Dr. Kelley to say Indonesian words, belajar yang serius ya; kamu pasti bisa, at the end of the podcast.
Happy listening!

That's a very nice podcast, Calvin. Very inspiring and engaging. I hope more international students, especially from Indonesia, can study at the LLT Program, WSU.

DeleteAwesome Calvin! It was so fun to listen to your podcast with Jane. I loved the beginning and end music and all of the questions. But by far my favorite part was having her speak Indonesian. Plus, I also enjoyed hearing the process of how doctoral students are chosen for the program and her tips for current doctoral students. Great poster by the way with the tips. Wonderful podcast Calvin!
